Martha Fishel Named Chief of Public Services Division

Thirty-year National Library of Medicine veteran Martha Fishel became the new chief of the Public Services Division in September, after serving as acting chief since March. Renowned for her broad knowledge of interlibrary loan activities, reference services, preservation, collection management and DOCLINE, Ms. Fishel had served as deputy chief of the Division since 1989.

DailyMed Hits 500th Milestone

Access to standard Food and Drug Administration (FDA)  drug label information keeps getting easier, thanks to the National Library of Medicine’s DailyMed Web site, which added its 500th drug label in August 2006. DailyMed’s medication label information also links to ClinicalTrials.gov, MedlinePlus and PubMed, for the latest info on any drug listed.
