Jerry Sheehan Named Assistant Director for Policy Development

Jerry Sheehan, a former principal administrator and senior economist with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Paris, was appointed in September by National Library of Medicine Director Donald A.B. Lindberg, MD, to be the new Assistant Director for Policy Development.

Previously, Mr. Sheehan directed two influential NLM reports, For the Record: Protecting Electronic Health Information (1997), which was a blueprint for the HIPAA security regulations, and Networking Health: Prescriptions for the Internet (2000).
