ToxMystery Now Available in Spanish

ToxMystery, the National Library of Medicine’s popular animated Web site that helps children and parents learn about typical toxic substances lurking at home, is now also offered in Spanish.

The site, originally launched in October 2006, features lively animation and Toxie, a rambunctious cat who guides users through the home, with amusing sound effects and interactive quizzes along the way. Children of all ages discover the environmental hazards of common household products, such as bleach and batteries, found in every room. A free “Teacher Resources” page, offering downloadable activities for elementary school pupils, is an additional popular feature.
