Lisa Lang has been appointed Head of NLM’s National Information Center for Health Services Research and Health Care Technology (NICHSR) and will also serve as NLM Assistant Director for Health Services Research. Prior to joining NICHSR, Lang was a health information specialist in the quality measurement and health assessment group at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Office of Clinical Standards and Quality. From 1994 to 2004, she was a senior health policy analyst in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation, US Department of Health and Human Services.
She began her federal career in 1980 as a Presidential Management Intern. She graduated from Stanford University and earned a master’s degree in public policy from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.
