On June 18th, PubMed Central (PMC), NLM’s free digital archive of full-text journal articles, added its one millionth article, from the American Journal of Pathology. Begun seven years ago, PMC adds articles from more than 350 current life sciences journals from cooperating publishers. As of June 1, the PMC Back Issue Digitization Project, scanning all prior journal issues cover-to-cover and creating PubMed citations for them, had collected and collated over 5 million pages of material, accounting for 675,000 of PMC’s 1 million articles.
