In June, the International Standards Development Organization (IHTSDO) elected four members to its standing committees — Content, Technical, Quality Assurance, and Research & Innovation. The committees are important to the ongoing development of SNOMED CT.

Also, in a move relevant to SNOMED CT users, the IHTSDO General Assembly revised the IHTSDO Articles, including increasing the maximum size of the Standing Committees to twelve to foster broader participation, and opening Working Group membership to those wishing to contribute to IHTSDO work plans.
