The NLM, as the US member of the International Health Terminology Standards Organization (IHTSDO), recently solicited nominations to four standing committees — Content, Technical, Quality Assurance, and Research & Innovation. The committees contribute to the ongoing development of the Systemized Nomenclature of Medicine Clinical Terms (SNOMED CT) systems and the governance of the IHTSDO.

Formed in 2006, IHTSDO is charged with developing and maintaining international health terminology. The nominations were due by August 1, 2008.
