Vaccinations? They’re Not Always Child’s Play

In the 1870 woodcut, Vaccinating the Baby, from a sketch by Sol Eytinge, a mother holds her offspring while the doctor vaccinates the child. A maid observes with apprehension. This image, from NLM’s Images from the History of Medicine database, appeared that year in Harper’s Weekly.
