The National Library of Medicine is serving as one of nine host institutions for the 2009 Association of Research Libraries (ARL) Career Enhancement Program. Funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and ARL member libraries, the program offers career-enhancing fellowships to MLS graduate students from underrepresented groups.
Fellowships include a six- to twelve-week internship at host research libraries, a mentoring relationship, leadership development and career placement assistance. Fellows receive a $10,000 grant covering stipends, academic expenses, travel and accommodations.
