NLM is expanding MedlinePlus to enable access to information from VisualDxHealth, an online consumer health resource featuring over 2,000 medical-quality images and information on more than 150 diseases — customized by age group, gender, and skin color of the visitor.

The new links to VisualDxHealth will augment the health encyclopedia, dictionaries, tutorials and news stories on MedlinePlus. VisualDxHealth will bring quality images and consumer-level descriptions to MedlinePlus users especially for dermatology issues, according to Joyce Backus, deputy chief of the NLM’s Public Services Division.
