If you are caring for an older family member or friend, there’s an easy way to learn about Medicare benefits that may help them. The Web site NIHSeniorHealth has a new topic entitled Medicare Basics for Caregivers.

Medicare is the federal health insurance program for adults 65 and older and younger people with disabilities. The new guide for caregivers summarizes Medicare’s medical and hospital benefits, enrollment, billing, prescription drug costs, home health care and much more. NIHSeniorHealth is a joint effort of the National Institute on Aging (NIA) and the National Library of Medicine.
