The Wireless Information System for Emergency Responders (WISER), designed by NLM to assist first responders in incidents involving hazardous materials, has been praised in an article on the online site FireRescue1 as the “one application that can provide absolutely crucial information to the EMT market and hazmat units.”

WISER is available for Microsoft Windows platforms (both PCs and Windows Mobile devices) and Palm OS mobile devices. A Web-based version of WISER, WebWISER, supports Web browsers for both PCs and PDAs, including BlackBerry and iPhone. (The iPhone version of WISER will be ready for release in the first half of 2010.)
