NLM Provides Chile Earthquake Info

The National Library of Medicine quickly responded to the massive earthquake in Chile by creating a Web page with disaster-related information.

The Disaster Information Management Research Center (DIMRC) created a Chile earthquake information page. The information is geared toward people in the United States and elsewhere who are monitoring or responding to the medical and public health needs of Chile. The page provides links to aftermath information from government agencies and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). It also features people locators, social media resources, and travel alerts. Material is available in English and Spanish.

A separate Web page, Earthquakes-Resources for Reponse and Recovery, provides background information on earthquakes, as well as traumatic injuries, guidelines for responders, stress and coping, and sanitation issues.
